Admission Eligibility: Yes. Applicants previously disqualified for academic reasons may be granted admission when there is an affirmative showing that you possess the requisite ability for the study of law.
Option 1: Immediate Admission (Any Time)
- Requires credible evidence that prior disqualification was NOT caused by lack of capacity
- Evidence must show disqualification resulted from: traumatic event OR serious hardship
Option 2: Admission After 2 Years
- At least 2 years must have elapsed since disqualification
- Must demonstrate work, study, or other experience has resulted in stronger potential for law study
What You Need to Provide:
- Complete explanation of circumstances leading to disqualification
- Evidence supporting readiness for law study
- Official transcripts from previous law school(s)
- Personal statement addressing how you have overcome previous challenges
Admission Decision Requirement: The Dean or Admissions Officer must sign and place in your file a statement of the reasons for admitting you.
Credit for Previous Law Study:
- Will NOT automatically receive credit
- Each course reviewed individually by Registrar
- Must have earned above passing grade for credit
- Must have passed FYLSX before any transfer credit granted
- Must repeat academic year that preceded disqualification
- Written credit evaluation provided before coursework begins
