There are so many things running through your mind when you are preparing to take the FYLSE. You may be traveling, you may be packing, you may be attempting to find a babysitter to make it to the exam center; the last thing you want to have to worry about is some crazy software.
The California Bar Examiners require that you have ExamSoft downloaded and your test submission completed by October 20th; otherwise you will not be able to use your laptop and will be required to hand write your essay on testing day. There is a set of detailed instructions on requirements, deadlines, and how to’s on the CalBar Website.
Even if you are the most technically unsavvy person in the world you can download ExamSoft and have confidence that your download will work on testing day.
Yes, there are many stories of people who downloaded ExamSoft and it worked perfectly fine until exam day but if you just keep calm you can work through those issues as well.
On test day you will be given a piece of paper that has detailed instructions to quickly walk you through any issues you have with ExamSoft during the test. If you are too stressed out or just not confident enough in yourself to get the instructions to work then move on, raise your hand, get some paper, and begin writing. But rest assured, with a little practice before the test you will not have any issues!
